Spend a day giving back! In Her Shoes Foundation’s Giving Back Program is proud to partner with the Pacific Garden Mission for a day of service. Pacific Garden is a shelter for men, women, and children located in the city of Chicago. For each resident, they provide showers, clean sleepwear, and a comfortable bunk in which to sleep. Members of the foundation and volunteers will be coming to the mission to serve in a variety of ways:
Pacific Garden Mission
1458 S Canal Street
Chicago, IL 60607
April 20, 2019
Food service: Food service volunteers MUST wear closed-toe and closed-heel shoes, and long pants (no capris or cropped pants). Wear clothes you are comfortable in and wouldn’t mind getting a little dirty!
Dormitory Readiness: Volunteers will be making beds and supplying the rooms with necessities.
Day Room Visits: Visit and speak with the residents of Pacific Garden Mission!
We are excited to offer volunteers a chance to partner with us to give back to the residents of Pacific Gardens. All volunteers have the option of choosing a time that works best for them:
Shift 1: 9 AM to 12PM
Shift 2: 12PM to 3PM
Shift 3: 9AM to 3PM
Pacific Garden Mission provides volunteer opportunities for individuals of all ages. Special kitchen assignments are offered but are limited by availability for children under 12. We are also asking volunteers to bring shower shoes for the residents since they are always needed in supply. Sizes requested for Men (needed the most), Women, and Children.
Parking: Street Parking is available. Otherwise pay at meter.
Please make sure to reserve a spot with your desired shift. We take volunteers from all different backgrounds. No experience is necessary. Just a willingness to serve. See you at Pacific Garden!
